What Is Unaccompanied Baggage?

Under Pakistan Customs Baggage Rules 2006 (SRO 666(I)/2006), unaccompanied baggage refers to personal effects and household goods that travel separately from the passenger — shipped before or after your own arrival — but which arrive in Pakistan within 60 days of the passenger’s own entry. How long can unaccompanied baggage arrive before or after my arrival in Pakistan?

Pakistan Baggage Rules 2006 allow unaccompanied baggage to arrive within 60 days before or after your own arrival in Pakistan to qualify for duty concessions. Goods arriving outside this window are treated as standard commercial imports with full duties, unless a special extension is granted by the Assistant Collector of Customs for circumstances beyond the passenger’s control. We recommend planning your shipment to arrive within this window.

Do I need to be physically present in Pakistan for baggage customs clearance?

In most cases, your presence or a formally executed Power of Attorney in favor of Bahri Trading Corporation is required. Can I import a car as part of my baggage or Transfer of Residence?

Motor vehicles are explicitly excluded from Pakistan’s Baggage Rules. I am relocating from the USA to Pakistan. What documents do I need?

Standard required documents include: your passport with entry stamps into the USA, a detailed packing list of all goods, bill of lading or airway bill, and proof of USA residence (visa, employment records, or utility bills). What is the difference between a diplomatic pouch and diplomatic cargo?
